This is a single early Mid Century Windsor chair from High Wycombe.
Hoop back dining chairs with bobbin tail circa 1940.
Maker's stamp to the underside of the seat
Dated 1940
Initials Stamps to the rear edge, difficult to read, probably E.L.
 
With a hooped stick-back, the elm saddle-seat with rear wedge, raised on ring-turned legs, joined by a H-shaped turned stretcher.
This example boasts classic period country styling; they would be at home in either a traditional or contemporary setting and they consume very little space.

The chair is a classic design and traditionally made from solid wood they have hoop shaped wedge backs in the traditional Windsor style with spindles
Very sturdy chair.
The wood has a good natural patination, it has been lightly stripped nor stained.
It boast the original tone, with a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through the years of care and cleaning they have received.

Nominal old use marks to the leading edges (e.g., seats, back and legs) but nothing significant considering the age of them.
The chair joints have been glued
There is no woodworm, the wood has a good natural patination, not stained
