Iconic Häpen Wire Steel Valet by Ehlén Johansson for Ikea
Circa 1980s

 

Ehlén Johansson is one of the company's best.
Her eye for the simplest of details is considered by many to be truly exceptional.

 

Black lacquered metal with a wooden knob.
This valet stand consists of a wire frame that is curved to show elegant male contours.

The valet stand HÄPEN, was available in male and female versions, made of lacquered steel wire with a wooden knob at the top. 


A novel and amusing bedroom statue that we're sure many fashionable homes of the 80s and 90s inhabited.
Equally fun to use by the pool for your towels or in the bathroom.
We adore its simple lines and consider it not only a mannequin but a modernist piece of sculpture.

Designed and made at a time when the Memphis style was popular, this fun item was intended to add humor and a sense of playfulness into the home.
Really cool Memphis Style/ Postmodern Design piece that'll look stunning in any interior. 

 

Condition:
Good original condition 
Light wear commensurate with age, some fading / marks to the red wooden top.
Little areas of loose paint
Some rust to the base
