Mid Century Teak Beaver & Tapley 33 Floating Shelf / Drawer desk 

A simple teak floating drawer / shelf unit from the Tapley SL range designed by Robert Heritage for Beaver & Tapley and launched in 1961. 
Influenced by similar Danish pieces, a concealed batten makes easy fixing to the wall.

This is a great wall mounted teak drawer/shelf/desk designed by Robert Heritage for Beaver & Tapley, a British furniture company who in the 1960s & 1970s pioneered floating and modular furniture that could be wall-mounted.
Made from high-quality teak with a medium wood tone.
 
This rectangular desk/shelf features a sleek design suitable for a laptop.

This teak veneered floating drawer/shelf is in excellent condition for its age and comes complete with the wall  batten for mounting the shelf. 
Teak finish on the top, sides and bottom with a darker tone wood detailing on edges and white inside drawer.
Recessed pull handles on each side of the drawer.
 
Roger Richardson, of Beaver & Tapley, and designer Robert Heritage visited the Cologne Exhibition in 1960 and saw a Swedish range of cabinets and shelving systems supported by wall fixed wire ladders. Together they decided to do away with the constricting ladders, providing a concealed fixing batten for each piece, making space saving furniture with complete freedom of arrangement. The first wall fixed range Tapley SL (SL for spirit level because there was one in every batten) was launched in 1961 and finally withdrawn in 1978.
