PRODUCT INFORMATION
Mid Century cheese cutting board designed by Jens Quistgaard for Dansk
Circa 1950s.
A beautifully crafted and thoughtfully designed cutting board in solid teak having an innovative fitted cheese slicer.
Made of staved teak with its fitted cheese slicer.
The handle of the slicer is a lighter colored wood, likely beech, which is a common hardwood in Scandinavia.
The teak board is quite elegant, with the lower half curving inwards, to form a sort of pedestal, so that it presents as a serving tray and not just a cutting board.
It bears the stamped mark reading: "DANSK Designs, Denmark, IHQ”, with the early 4 duck logo from the 1950s.
With its ingenious staved wood construction and built-in wire cutter, it’s both a work of art and a practical party guest with no cheese left behind! That slot in the board?
It’s a custom-fit hideout for the cutter, because Danish design always multitasks.
This piece is great for use or display on your bar cart, shelf, or charcuterie board rotation.
Pair with bold ceramics, brass accents, and a glass of red.
Dimensions:
24.2 cm diameter
3.5 cm high
Condition:
Good Pre-owned Condition.
There are a few light knife marks, but nothing abusive, and no stains.
The wire on the slicer is not straight, but it has enough tensile strength to cut cheese.
