Vintage Bedside Table
This is a unique opportunity to acquire a stunning Oak bedside table.
Circa 1940’s
CC41 Utility furniture 
 
Utility Furniture was furniture produced in the United Kingdom during and directly after World War II. 
The furniture was produced under a government scheme which was designed to cope with raw material shortages and rationing of their usage. 
Introduced at the end of 1942, the Utility Furniture Scheme continued into post-war austerity and lasted until its abolition in March 1949.
 
Nightstand with unique oak patina, premium quality and sought after classic rustic style.
Light oak veneer nearly square designed cabinet
Sleek top with multi edges join solid wood frame with 3 large drawers.
The whole unit seats on a plinth base
Each drawer provides multiple storage space
They show off dovetail joints and slide on wooden bases
Externally bedsides offer satin finish; straight lines; metal brass finish large handles
Nice rounded top edges
Lovely detail at the back
Durable and heavy duty
Most probably made by C.W.S Cabinet factory in London
Stamped with the CC41 mark between drawer supports
Interior of the drawers sprayed in gold (were done at some point during its previous life)
 
Its and nice details makes this table perfect to glow alone by itself, as a bedside table or as a lamp table by you sofa, in hallway or in your bathroom.
Everything exhibiting a lovely aged finish giving to the piece a unique character
 
Condition:
Good original condition
Top and one side has some small holes, we believe to be attachments for other pieces.
One side has the plinth base unfinished

Few small marks and chips as per pictures
Interior drawer showing traces of use
Cleaned and waxed to preserve the wood
