Set of 4 Vintage Carimate chairs designed by Vico Magistretti and likely made in 1960s Italy. 
Carimate dining chairs in glossy Red with fabric seats
 
The Carimate chair is a landmark piece of mid-century modern design.
Created by Italian architect Vico Magistretti in 1959. 
It was originally commissioned exclusively to furnish the restaurant at the Carimate Golf Club in Lombardy, Italy
Red is the original color designed for the dining room chairs for 'Carimate Golf Club' in Como, Italy. 
Carimate chairs came in different frame shapes, colours and seat cover materials. 

The simple form and solid materials of the chairs make for excellent furniture design even 6 decades after they were first introduced. 
Each chair features a solid beech frame finished in deep red, with cylindrical legs and a gently curved ladder back. 
The seats are upholstered in a beige fabric , creating a natural contrast against the painted timber. 

An enduring mid-century design that balances robust construction with refined Italian modernist lines.
The "Carimate" chair draws inspiration from traditional countryside furniture, refining its simplicity—the blend of Italian craftsmanship and modern design results in a timeless piece. 
Magistretti paid particular attention to small yet significant details, such as the anatomical curvature of the backrest and the way the seat attaches to the legs.
 
This set has been fully restored and upholstered:
 
1-The solid beechwood frame has been painted a bright, shiny red with Rust-Oleum's Cardinal Red  paint approx RAL 3001 
  -Red is the original color designed or the dining room chairs for 'Carimate Golf Club' in Como, Italy
  -Solid beech frame sturdy and fully sanded, then having a primer coat and finished in deep red
 
2-The seat is covered Linwood Niva Eggshell Fabric (LF2087FR/001). It is a premium, stain-resistant semi-plain upholstery fabric featuring a versatile neutral cream tone.
  -It features a rich cream-toned aesthetic with a durable textured weave. 
 -This fabric offers a 50,000 Martindale rub rating making it highly durable for long-term household or contract furniture use. 
 -Scandi-inspired semi-plain upholstery weave.
- Premium 25% linen, 15% cotton, 50% viscose blend.
 -Exceptional 50,000 Martindale durability rating.
 -Features an advanced stain-resistant coating.
 -Inherently flame-retardant backing for safety.
