The exposed tenon joints add a subtle design feature and highlight the quality cabinet-making typical of Danish designs.
Those joints are visible at the  top of the leg frame and at the bottom of them as well

During the 60s and 70s Danish workshops emphasized visible joinery—such as finger joints or box joints—not just for strength but as a deliberate aesthetic statement that showcased the cabinetmaker’s skill. Danish furniture makers believed that construction details should be celebrated rather than hidden, reflecting a philosophy rooted in traditional Scandinavian woodworking. Because of this, exposed joinery became one of the most recognizable signatures of authentic Danish modern craftsmanship.
